Expertise and experience are defining characteristics of
the Red Hill Academy program. Our strength-based, family-centered
approach emphasizes the "whole child", and combined
with effective academic and clinical intervention, allows
for the uncovering of our students' many latent talents. At
Red Hill Academy we believe that every student has the
potential to become a life-long learner. We also believe
that every student has the capacity to acquire the tools necessary
for a successful and fulfilling life.
In our supportive, relational, and enriching environment,
students are encouraged to embrace their creative and imaginative
thought processes without losing sight of the value of a pragmatic
approach to life's challenges. Red Hill Academy students are
free to pursue their personal passions, and they do so in
the context of a community that values both their uniqueness
and their highest aspirations. Our emphasis on the development
of social skills, and even more importantly, the development
of "friendship skills," allows students to experience
a sense of belonging and connection that we believe to be
fundamental to an overall sense of well being. Academically,
socially, and otherwise, our students leave Red Hill Academy
well prepared for the world that awaits them.
Positive School Culture
In order to maintain a consistently positive school
culture, Red Hill Academy utilizes a campus wide level system
that encourages age-appropriate, pro-social behaviors through
a system of rewards and incentives. Emphasizing both personal
and interpersonal responsibility, the RHA level system establishes
clear behavioral expectations, a reliable daily routine, and
consistent responses to both appropriate and inappropriate
behaviors. Positive peer influence plays a prominent role
in both the academic and residential settings and is reflected
in all aspects of campus life. Our hope is that by promoting
success, building on each student's unique strengths, and
focusing on positive relationships, we will instill and enhance
in our clients universal values that will improve the quality
of their lives and positively impact future generations.
